SOWING INSTRUCTIONS
Seed To Bloom:
12-16 weeks
Starting Indoors:
Soak seeds in hot water for 4 hours for quicker germination and sow in sterile germinating mix 6-8 weeks before planting out. Keep at 70-75°F.
Starting Outdoors:
Direct sow after last frost in long season areas, zones 7+.
PLACEMENT & CULTIVATION
The papery clover-like flowers of globe amaranth are non-stop bloomers and picture-perfect edging borders with other heat and sun-loving annuals. A popular cut flower for fresh and dried bouquets, they offer well-mannered foliage and pristine globe-shaped blossoms in the later summer and fall when many early summer bloomers start to fade.
Watering Details:
Water regularly when establishing, then allow the soil to dry thoroughly between waterings. Water during prolonged heat spells for the best performance.
Fertilizer:
Fertilize with compost or a balanced organic formulation mixed into soil before planting.
Diseases & Pests:
Occasionally susceptible to leaf spot or mildew; prevent by placing in a location with good air circulation to help keep leaves dry.
When to Cut for Bouquets:
Harvest for fresh use when 3/4 open; for dry use fully open.
