We've been enamored by antique varieties of sweet peas since we first grew flowers, for their scented blooms set the gold standard for sweet pea fragrance. Our selections now include modern ruffled kinds, and all have that wonderful orange blossom fragrance. They reward good soil prep (lots of added compost and a sprinkling of lime) with luxuriant growth and fistfuls of lushly scented flowers. Hardy annual, plant out early spring and protect from mice and slugs.
