Seed To Bloom:
14-16 weeks
Starting Indoors:
Recommended. 8-10 weeks before last frost. Keep at 65-75°F in darkness until germination occurs. If no germination after four weeks, chill in refrigerator for two weeks, then return to warmth.
Starting Outdoors:
Not recommended.
PLACEMENT & CULTIVATION
The many-branched stems of Vervain 'Polaris' root along their length to make flower-filled drifts, becoming a groundcover where hardy. Lovely edging garden paths and brimming over large containers, attracting numerous butterflies while repelling deer and rabbits.
Watering Details:
Moderate drought tolerance once established but best with 1" of water per week.
Soil pH:
Slightly acid to alkaline
Fertilizer:
Mix in a few inches of compost prior to planting.
