PLACEMENT & CULTIVATION
Rose everlasting, also known as Helipterum, can be sown outdoors in a warm position in containers, borders, and cutting gardens. The papery blooms excel in fresh-cut or dried arrangements when cut before the flowers expand fully. Heat tolerant, they do well in freely draining soils. Avoid clay soils that are poorly drained.
Watering Details:
1" per week; drought tolerant once established.
Fertilizer:
Mix in an inch of compost before planting, and sidedress with organic fertilizer in midsummer.
When to Cut for Bouquets:
Harvest when the bottom 2-4 layers of petals have unfolded but before flowers have completely opened. Hang to dry.
