PLACEMENT & CULTIVATION
Perennial soapwort has been transformed by a skillful breeder to flower the same year, starting midsummer from early sowing indoors. Add airy grace notes to containers and garden edges with the sweetly fragrant flowers blooming in clusters. It is a resilient choice for rock gardens, cottage, and herb gardens in well-drained soils in the sun. Deadhead to curtail possible excessive self-sowing.
Watering Details:
Water during especially dry, hot spells.
Diseases & Pests:
No major problems, but can take over an area quickly given prime growing conditions.
When to Cut for Bouquets:
Cut when 1/2 of flowers on stem open. Dip into boiling water for a few seconds.
