SOWING INSTRUCTIONS
Depth:
Sow on surface and press in lightly.
Sprout Time:
7-10 days
Starting Indoors:
Sow indoors 6 weeks before planting out after frost. Cover lightly with vermiculite to maintain humidity. Keep at 70-75°F.
Starting Outdoors:
Not recommended.

PLACEMENT & CULTIVATION
The large flower wands of this heat and drought tolerant salvia attract hummingbirds and other pollinators like few others. Place in the mid to back border, and in large containers, where flowering starts in mid-summer and continues until frost. A vigorous, upright grower that flowers continuously without deadheading. Where hardy, cut back to 2" in fall or early spring.

About 1" per week; do not overwater.

Fertilizer:
Mix compost into the soil prior to planting. Apply an application of time release organic fertilizer when planting.

Generally problem free, but if aphids, thrips or whiteflies are present, streams of water or an insecticidal soap application will resolve the issue.

Cut when about 1/2 of florets are open.
