PLACEMENT & CULTIVATION
An herb garden staple and classic pizza herb, oregano also helps deter the cabbage butterfly, which can severely damage brassica plants. Tolerates drought once established. Be sure to pinch back to prevent flowering if planning to harvest leaves, as this will keep them sweet and more flavorful; flowering can cause the leaves to become somewhat bitter.
Watering Details:
Water during especially dry spells.
Diseases & Pests:
Avoid root rot by planting in a well-drained location where there is also good airflow, which will help to prevent fungal problems. If fungal issues arise, treat with an organic fungicide according to package instructions. If pests such as leaf miners, spider mites, or aphids appear, treat with an insecticidal soap or other organically friendly product.
