Linaria purpurea
A perennial flower of peerless grace, Linaria sends up many elegant spires of baby-pink tiny snapdragon flowers. They freely bloom over a long season in summer and fall, the branching form continually producing new flower wands that wave above the delicate grey-green foliage.

SOWING INSTRUCTIONS
Depth:
Surface to just cover.
Starting Indoors:
Sow in pots indoors 6-8 weeks before setting out in spring. Keep at 60-65°F. If no germination after 3 weeks, chill for 2-3 weeks.
Starting Outdoors:
Direct sow in spring.

PLACEMENT & CULTIVATION
A supporting player in dry gardens, meadows, and cottage gardens, Linaria pairs well with clary sage 'Turkestanica' and lamb's ears. Native to Italy, it prefers well-drained sites and full sun. Deer resistant, it attracts bees and is a lovely cut flower. Self-sows, sometimes abundantly. Trim back spent flower stems, leaving a few to drop seed and renew the planting.
