PLACEMENT & CULTIVATION
The dried flowers of this aromatic herb have been at the center of remedies for insomnia, nervousness, cramping, stomach problems, skin ailments, and more since ancient times. Gather the abundant apple-scented flower heads in full bloom and steep fresh or dry for teas. Its ferny light green foliage and a wealth of gold-centered daisy flowers make it a valuable annual in vegetable gardens or cottage and informal meadow gardens. Deadhead or harvest to reduce self sowing.
Watering Details:
About 1" per week; less is okay once established. Do not overwater.
Fertilizer:
If soil is poor, mix in a couple of inches of compost prior to planting.
When to Cut for Bouquets:
Harvest fully opened flowers in the afternoon, after dew has evaporated. Use fingers as a comb to collect just the flower head. Dry thoroughly or freeze.
