Like beacons of summer gardens, fluted stems hold the golden-orange velvety petals of this rare Tithonia aloft. Strongly branched and full of blooms, Mexican sunflower is attractive as a hedge at the back of the border and cut as a bouquet flower. Deer resistant and sure to attract pollinators, this easy-to-care-for flower brings birds late in the season to the many seeds that ripen within the cone centers.

PLACEMENT & CULTIVATION
Mexican sunflower or tithonia is an impressive specimen that grows into a sturdy shrub in summer and soon develops fluted buds holding aloft the fiery scarlet flowers. Attractive as a hedge or specimen at the back of the garden and valuable in cutting gardens. Deer resistant tithonia attracts pollinators; late in the year, birds harvest the seeds. Easy-care, deadhead, if desired, as it blooms long regardless.
