Snow on the Mountain

Euphorbia marginata
A native of Missouri and Arkansas and deemed "a most elegant species...", by seedsman Joseph Breck in 1851. This long-time favorite has fleshy green and white ribboned leaves that develop at the tops of the plants. Zinnias make colorful companions in cottage gardens or cutting gardens. Wear gloves when handling, as the sap can cause dermatitis. Self-sows.
